The judges noted Chaney Enterprises for our supportive corporate culture and management practices, family and employee-friendly policies and practices, strong employee health and wellness initiatives, comprehensive growth and learning opportunities and demonstrating corporate social responsibility and employee volunteerism.

We also received recognition for our commitment to training and education through the Chaney University. In addition to position- and corporate-related training, employees participate in ongoing safety training courses specific to their areas of responsibility and that benefit the employee was well as the customer. All vehicle operators take defensive driving classes and mining personnel take site-specific training annually.

In addition, Chaney received the AWE Health & Wellness Seal of Approval to highlight businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness at work, home and in the community. Only 43 companies achieved this recognition.

“It is a great honor to receive the ‘Workplace Excellence Award' and to know that, by these high standards of excellence, we are providing Chaney employees a top-quality place to work which in turn helps our customers’ businesses,” said Chaney Enterprises spokesman Steve Tripp. “Doing the right thing has always been the cornerstone of our corporate culture and company values, so while we’re proud to be recognized by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, we realize the real winners are our customers."

As an example, Chaney helps its professional drivers maintain and refine their skills in a competitive environment through participation in state-wide and national truck roadeos, while a comprehensive wellness program helps improve the value we provide through fewer call outs and more on-time products.

Chaney employs more than 280 delivery professionals, support personnel and administrative staff located in nine Maryland counties and Virginia.
