News - Heavy Hitter Steve Tripp Named Outstanding Concrete Industry Promoter with MRMCPC Award

The Maryland Ready Mix Concrete Promotions Council (MRMCPC) awarded Steve Tripp, Chaney Enterprises marketing manager, a “Heavy Hitter” Award for his outstanding dedication to advancing the concrete industry. Tripp was one of four professionals recognized at the Council’s first annual “Heavy Hitters” Award Banquet for Concrete Promotion on October 21 in Baltimore.

“In nearly five years, Steve has charged forward in advocating a front-running place for concrete products, while energizing our organization with his can-do actions,” said Tom Evans, MRMCA Promotions Director.

Tripp was noted for his innovations and active participation in the promotion council, including board membership, chairing the paving committee and staying on target with political issues that have lead to positive policy changes in legislature. He has been a passionate spokesperson for green building efforts that include the benefits of concrete as a building material and paving material, and Pervious Concrete, developing and conducting training on all aspects of the products. Tripp also took the lead to create effective promotional displays and materials for the Council and for Chaney Enterprises.

The MRMCA is a trade association representing all ready mix concrete producers in the state. The association provides support and resources for promotion, government relations and legislative issues, safety, training, education, industry image, the environment and technical matters while effectively communicating its efforts, activities and their results to its members and the community.
