A new tool from the Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) Research & Education Foundation is now available to assist concrete professionals, designers and decision makers on designing concrete overlays.

The “Guide for concrete overlays of Asphalt parking lots” was prepared by the national Concrete Pavement Technology Center. To ensure usability, the CP Tech Center included review and input from a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), that included the most experienced concrete overlay designers and contractors in the country.

Information and guidance is given in many areas, such as assessing existing pavement integrity, pavement design principles, design life, managing parking lot drainage, construction techniques and more.

“Guide for concrete overlays of Asphalt parking lots” is available for download at www.rmc-foundation.org. Hardcopies and a new RMC Foundation “Tools & Resources” CD are also available upon request.
