News - Chaney’s Tom Fisher Receives National Recognition as Certified Concrete Professional

Tom Fisher, a three-year Chaney Enterprises team member, recently completed the National Ready Mix Concrete Association’s concrete professional certification program. Concrete plant operations professionals from 35 states participated in this year’s program. Maryland represented 10 percent of the participants.

“It is a privilege to work for a company that has such a commitment to the education of its employees. I am incredibly grateful to Chaney Enterprises and the NRMCA for giving me this great opportunity,” said Fisher.

The primary goal of the certification program is to provide ready mixed concrete operational employees with a comprehensive educational opportunity that enables them to establish productive careers in the industry, according to the NRMCA website. Fisher, who is assigned to Chaney Enterprises’ Hollywood mixing plant, is one of two concrete professionals certified in the state of Maryland. He completed the 120-hour program requirements within a single year.

“Chaney Enterprises can be very pleased Tom achieved this certification in a year, but also that he excelled in the material as well. That is something Chaney can celebrate,” said Eileen Dickson, NRMCA managing director of education. Only 35 concrete professionals have been certified nationally, according to NRMCA.

Established in 1962, Chaney Enterprises has grown to be one of the leading concrete manufacturers, aggregate suppliers and source of construction materials and supplies in the Mid-Atlantic. Still family owned and operated, Chaney Enterprises continues to focus on delivering superior quality products with exemplary service to contractors and homeowners. Employees take pride in offering top quality concrete, sand, gravel, stone, masonry products and supplies delivered on time to customers.
