The Community Foundation of Charles County inducted Chaney Enterprises, the Chaney Foundation and the Chaney family into its Philanthropy Hall of Fame during the 3rd Annual Philanthropy Day November 14. The Philanthropy Hall of Fame honors those individuals, families and institutions for their lifetime of giving to Charles County’s communities. During the luncheon Gretchen Heinze Hardman, CFCC executive director, announced the establishment of the Southern Maryland Women’s League (SMWL) Fund. The $20,000 fund was created by the SMWL Foundation who endowed $10,000 and the gift was matched by the Chaney Foundation.
