Plant Maintenance Technician (Waldorf, MD)

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of our sand and gravel and concrete facilities.

Essential Functions:

  1. Construct/assemble new sand and gravel and concrete plants and provide maintenance and repair on all plants and equipment in a timely manner.
  2. Perform all maintenance operations (welding, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, boilers and air systems) in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations.
  3. Maintain equipment such as: feed systems, conveying systems, scrubber systems, shaker systems, classifying systems, discharge hopper systems, weigh systems, cement storage systems, central mixer systems, load carrying systems, drive systems, water systems, air systems, electrical systems, crusher systems, hydraulic systems, recycling systems, structural systems, and other miscellaneous equipment.
  4. Inspect equipment in accordance with the company's Prescribed Inspection Schedule and complete equipment inspection and reports.
  5. Keep equipment and plant site clean at all times. Perform miscellaneous duties and outside labor as requested, which may include, but not limited to, cleaning up around the plant, sweeping, shoveling, moving wheelbarrows, picking up equipment or supplies.
  1. Perform all pre and post-trip inspections and complete daily inspection reports.
  2. Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner. Follow proper procedures and complete required documentation if an accident or injury occurs. Notify manager or Safety Department as required.
  3. Understand and comply with all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies. Notify manager and the Safety Manager immediately of any potential or current safety problems.
  4. Wear required PPE.
  5. Follow all environmental regulations and clean up any excess material that could cause environmental problems.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions:

  1. Drive/operate crane (manual transmission).
  2. Operate man lift and perform rigging as needed.
  3. Fill in for colleagues as needed.
