Land Use Specialist (Gambrills, MD)

Looking for a Land Use Specialist with a passion for taking on complex projects from the initial planning stages to launch and beyond. Essential Functions:

  1. Manage assigned projects and tasks supporting the Land Management Department.
  2. Review and interpret land permits, land use regulations, zoning and other federal and state land use regulations.
  3. Prepare and/or monitor regulatory reports including but not limited to MOSH, MSHA, EPA, MDE, and DEQ. Prepare and generate other reports and statistical data as needed.
  4. Perform a variety of administrative tasks to include: answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting department mail, calendar management, preparing letters of correspondence, invoice management, file and document management.
  5. Prepare and process claims and reports while acting as liaison between insurance companies, doctor’s offices, customers/general public, and company personnel.

    2. Environmental issues and claims
  6. Communicate and/or meet with regulatory agencies to ensure the company meets or exceeds the requirements of compliance.
  7. Understand and assist with facility and job site inspections to promote a safe and clean work environment.
  8. Manage existing permits and approvals for all operational facilities.
  9. Provide support in acquiring new property for mining and/or development, including special exceptions and permitting through the various jurisdictions, full engineering and delivery of an entitled parcel for use.
  10. Manage vendors providing cleaning and maintenance at all company facilities.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
