News - Concrete, Aggregate Delivery Professionals Take High Honors at Championship

 

Waldorf, MD—Delivery professionals from Chaney Enterprises showed they have the right stuff on June 9. taking top awards at the Maryland State Truck Driving Championships in Timonium. More than 100 truck driving professionals from across the state competed.

Chaney Enterprises’ concrete delivery professional (CDP) Steve Waclawski from the Bestgate Plant won second place in the concrete mixer division. Billy Hickman, CDP at Waldorf Plant, took third place. Aggregate Delivery Professional (ADP) Tyrone (Sam) Brown from Waldorf Sand & Gravel won third place in the dump truck division.

The truck driving competition consists of three phases. Drivers must execute driving maneuvers along a complicated field course that simulates conditions frequently encountered on highways across the country. Next the drivers must successfully complete a pre-trip inspection on a specified vehicle; then, drivers are tested on their knowledge of safety regulations.
