News - Chaney Enterprises Wins National 'Excellence in Quality Award'
LAS VEGAS (January 2, 2014) -- Chaney Enterprises was named a winner in the 2013 NRMCA Excellence in Quality Awards sponsored by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, making it the only company to win the award that operates in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C .
The winners were honored during the awards luncheon at NRMCA’s ConcreteWorks and Board of Directors’ meeting outside Las Vegas.
Based upon strict NRMCA research engineering and standards criteria, winning producers must prove they follow and exceed quality management principles over a broad range of activities from commitment to quality materials management, managing production facilities, product quality control and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Chaney also received recognition for being one of only two companies nationwide to earn a new industry certification created to recognize concrete producers capable of furnishing concrete to performance-based specifications. Chaney received the certification for two of its plants; also receiving the certification was ARGOS USA for three plants in South Carolina.
“This is another program that raises the bar and sets a standard for quality for the ready mixed concrete industry,” said Robert Garbini, NRMCA president. “This certification establishes the credentials of a concrete producer that operates at a higher quality standard and can be a valuable partner on concrete construction projects. It will satisfy and exceed the typical requirement for the submission of a quality plan invoked by most project specifications.”
