Introducing the First Production-Proven Hybrid Concrete Mixer

This Earth Day, Chaney Enterprises is proud to push the boundaries of sustainable building as we introduce the first production-proven hybrid concrete mixer in the United States. Imagined and brought to life in partnership with Grooms Equipment and Continental Mixers, this innovation marks a meaningful step toward a greener future.

This is not a concept or a prototype. This is a real, job site proven concrete mixer designed to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and elevate performance across concrete delivery operations.

Built Smarter from the Ground Up

At the core of this mixer is a more intelligent system. The engine powers a generator, the generator charges a battery, and the battery runs the drum. The result is simple but powerful: when the truck arrives on the jobsite, the engine can shut off while the drum keeps turning.

Today, the industry average idle time for concrete mixers exceeds 50%. This hybrid system reduces that to approximately 6%. Less idling means less fuel consumption, fewer emissions, and a more efficient jobsite overall.

And it doesn’t stop there. The truck can load concrete under the plant without the engine running, operating fully on electric power. The result is a quieter experience for operators, nearby residents, and surrounding communities, especially during early morning pours.

Designed for Real-World Performance

This hybrid mixer isn’t just innovative: it’s practical. Every component was engineered to improve reliability, consistency, and ease of use in day-to-day operations.

Key features include:

  • A fully electric drum that operates without external charging
  • Elimination of hydraulics, reducing maintenance needs and common failure points
  • Real-time data and controls that improve consistency and performance
  • Built-in automation that supports the driver rather than relying solely on manual operation

The system is designed to work smarter at every level, reducing variability while increasing efficiency.

Efficiency Meets Sustainability

This technology goes beyond fuel savings. By combining advanced engine design with electric-powered drum operation, the system actively reduces emissions while improving overall performance.

From cleaner exhaust processes to optimized fuel usage, every aspect of this mixer contributes to a more sustainable operation. It’s a clear example of how innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Engineered Through Experience

After years of development, testing, and multiple iterations, this hybrid mixer is officially entering the market. It’s been built, refined, and proven in real-world conditions, not just designed on paper.

A Step Forward for the Industry

This is more than a new piece of equipment. It’s a shift in how concrete can be delivered. With features like reduced idle time, quieter operation, lower maintenance demands, and smarter system controls, this hybrid mixer sets a new standard for performance and sustainability.

A special thank you to Grooms Equipment and Continental Mixers for designing and building this mixer. Together, we’re not just introducing a new truck, we’re helping move the industry forward.
