Chaney welcomes students to Annapolis Ready-Mix Plant and HQ for Career Day

Earlier this week, Chaney Cares teamed up with TCP Youth Empowerment to show students in Anne Arundel County career pathways that Chaney offers.

In the morning, Chaney Cares committee member Lamont Hopkins led students on a tour around a ready-mix plant. Students were able to see the different types of materials Chaney uses, learn how a ready-mix plant functions, and watch how dispatch schedules orders. Following the tour, they put their hands-on skills to the test by creating stepping stones with concrete and mosaic pieces.

In the afternoon, students went to Chaney’s headquarters to have lunch and engage in discussions with Donna Kopf, Ariel Heath, and Hannah Krazinsky about the importance of communication in the workplace.

Chaney Cares is grateful to partner with local organizations and teach students about careers throughout the construction materials industry.
