Investing in the Future of Eagle Springs

When we acquired the Eagle Springs Sand & Gravel operation in North Carolina in early 2025, we saw more than an existing aggregate facility. We saw an opportunity to strengthen our ability to serve a growing regional market by ensuring a reliable, high-quality supply of aggregates.

The existing portable processing plant and mobile fleet had served the operation well, but they weren’t equipped to support the production goals we knew the operation was capable of.  Producing approximately 100 tons per hour, the facility needed significant upgrades to reach its full potential.

Over the past year, our team has focused on transforming the operation from the ground up, with a clear emphasis on reliability, efficiency, and giving our crews the right tools to perform safely and effectively.

The centerpiece of that investment is a new aggregate processing plant installed in January 2026. The new plant is capable of producing up to 350 tons per hour—more than tripling prior capacity. That increased output allows us to better serve ready-mix operations and aggregate customers throughout North Carolina while positioning Eagle Springs for long-term growth.

The new high-capacity plant requires equipment that can match its pace. That’s why we’re continuing to invest in modern Caterpillar equipment across the Eagle Springs operation. Standardizing the fleet improves reliability, simplifies maintenance, and gives our operators the tools they need to move more material safely and efficiently.

New equipment includes:

  • A larger wheel loader sized to meet the demands of the new processing plant.
  • New excavators and articulated haul trucks to improve pit production.
  • Continued use of dedicated loading equipment to keep customer trucks moving efficiently.
  • A dedicated water truck, built in-house using a repurposed Chaney mixer chassis, to reduce roadway dust and support safe site operations.

Every investment we make is focused on delivering better service to the market while creating a safer, more efficient workplace for our employees.

Modern equipment reduces downtime. Increased production means greater reliability for end-users. Improved site infrastructure supports safer operations and positions Eagle Springs to meet demand for years to come.

As we continue expanding our footprint across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions, Eagle Springs is a great example of what happens when you combine strategic investment with a team that’s committed to getting the job done right.
