Mountaintop Montessori Middle School Expansion Project

As schools grow, so does the need for spaces that inspire learning while meeting the needs of students and educators. The expansion of Mountaintop Montessori Middle School in Charlottesville, Virginia, was designed to do just that. This project created additional classroom space while giving the campus a refreshed, modern appearance.

The project increased the middle school capacity from 22 to 40 students, providing room for future growth while maintaining the welcoming environment that defines the Mountaintop Montessori community. With an ambitious six-month construction schedule, every phase of the project required quality materials, dependable partners, and efficient execution.

Designed by BRW Architects and constructed by Abrahamse & Co Builders, the project showcases the impact of collaboration in delivering a high-quality educational facility on schedule.

Grotto Hardscapes, a division of Chaney Enterprises, was proud to play a significant role in bringing the building’s exterior to life by supplying the materials used throughout the veneer system. The project features approximately 3,500 square feet of Cultured Stone® Tenley Brick™ in the Loften color blend, creating a timeless appearance that complements the school’s updated design.
