Inspiring Future Builders: Chaney Joins Touch-a-Truck at Hartwood Elementary

We’re proud to share that our very own driver, Carlos Palacios, recently represented Chaney at a Touch-a-Truck event in Fredericksburg, VA—and what a day it was! Hosted at Hartwood Elementary School, the event gave students a hands-on opportunity to explore real work vehicles and meet the professionals behind the wheel.

Carlos brought one of our concrete mixer trucks to the school grounds, where students had the chance to climb aboard, ask questions, and learn how these powerful machines help build the world around them. From how concrete is mixed and poured, to the daily responsibilities of a professional driver, Carlos gave students a firsthand look at what a career in the ready-mix industry is all about.

It was an unforgettable experience for many of the kids—full of curiosity, excitement, and inspiration. Events like these play a crucial role in sparking interest in future career paths and showing the next generation the many possibilities available in construction and concrete.

We’re honored to support programs that connect our industry with the community and future workforce. A huge thank you to Hartwood Elementary for the invitation—and to Carlos for being such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable ambassador for Chaney!

Inspiring the next generation, one truck at a time! 👏
