The Passing of Francis Hall Chaney, II “Frank.”
Author: Megan Joy
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Francis Hall Chaney, II “Frank.”
For many of us, Frank was more than a leader. He was a mentor, a visionary, a trusted friend, and a steadfast champion of the people around him. Those who knew him best will remember him for his genuine care for others, his quiet wisdom, and his unwavering belief in helping people succeed.
After joining Chaney Enterprises in 1979, Frank dedicated more than 40 years to guiding our company and helping shape its future. His fingerprints can be found on countless initiatives, relationships, and traditions that continue to define who we are today. He challenged us to think differently, encouraged us to dream bigger, and reminded us that success is measured not only by what we achieve, but by how we treat others along the way.
Frank’s passion for education, community service, and philanthropy touched countless lives. Whether supporting the Boys & Girls Club, championing workforce development, or helping build stronger communities, he believed deeply in creating opportunities for others. He worked tirelessly to remind us that anything achieved at Chaney Enterprises is a direct result of the communities and customers we serve.
One of Frank’s favorite sayings was, “In trust we thrive.” Those four words became more than a motto – they became a way of life. He led with trust, built relationships on trust, and inspired others to do the same.
Above all, Frank loved his family. He was immensely proud of the generations who came before him and deeply committed to leaving a better future for those who would follow. His legacy lives on not only in the company he helped build, but in the countless people he encouraged, supported, and believed in.
To his wife Susan, his children Hall and Katharine, the entire Chaney family, and all who loved Frank, we extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers.
Thank you, Frank, for your leadership, your generosity, your friendship, and your faith in others. Your legacy will continue to guide us.
