News - Chaney Foundation Provides Support to United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore

The Chaney Foundation granted $5,000 to the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore last week during a check presentation in Cambridge by Chaney Board Director William Childs. The Foundation grant will support the United Way’s Annual Community Campaign.

“The community commitment, support and dedication by the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore demonstrates the core values of the Chaney Foundation. It is an honor and privilege to provide these resources,” said Childs.

“We are blessed to have generous community partners lie the Chaney Foundation. It is this type of generosity that allows our local United Way to impact the lives of over 100,000 of the less fortunate in our community every year,” said Gage Thomas, campaign chairman for the Annual Community Campaign. The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore has supported its neighbors in need in Dorchester, Worchester, Somerset and Wicomico Counties for the last 60 years. By funding nonprofit agencies and organizations in the region, the United Way is a critical link to programs that focus on helping children and youth succeed, emergency and crisis assistance and services for aging and vulnerable populations.

Founded in 1987, the Chaney Foundation is committed to serve the needs and provide a better quality of life for all the citizens where Chaney Enterprises and its associated companies do business. The Foundation focuses its giving to charitable organizations for the purpose of improving health, education, environment and the welfare of citizens and their children. Ten percent of Chaney Enterprises’ overall net profit is transferred to the Chaney Foundation to support its mission.
