Chaney Enterprises Expands to Farmville, Virginia

Chaney Enterprises has consummated an agreement to acquire W.C. Newman Co. in Prospect, Virginia to add to their various locations in the Richmond market.

In business for over 60 years, W.C. Newman Co. has operated out of their location in Prince Edward County supplying local contractors with ready-mix concrete produced out of their state-of-the-art, 16,000 square-foot facility. W.C. Newman will continue to deliver quality concrete to customers in Buckingham, Cumberland, Prince Edward, and surrounding counties with their current employees.

W.C. Newman Co. operates with the latest technology and has a strong commitment to their community and environment. Their sustainable practices and procedures include sourcing local ingredients such as aggregates from a local quarry and type 1L Portland cement (which can reduce cement’s carbon footprint up to 10%.) The ready-mix concrete operation is also a zero-water discharge plant with process water being stored for reuse back into the concrete.

“Farmville is a strong strategic location as our company continues to grow our Virginia footprint,” says Francis “Hall” Chaney, III, chief executive officer for Chaney Enterprises. “We are excited to add W.C. Newman to the Chaney family and look forward to continuing to serve the great customers in the Farmville area with the same local feel W.C. Newman has always provided.”
