Chaney Enterprises Foundation Fund Grants Available Beginning February 1, 2020!
Supporting the community has been a priority for Chaney Enterprises since Eugene "Babe" Chaney formed the company in 1962. Frank Chaney and his brother Dicky formed the Eugene Chaney Foundation Ltd. in 1987 in honor of their father by supporting the communities where the company does business and where the Chaney families and company employees live. In 2014, the Chaney Foundation partnered with the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) to manage the Chaney Foundation's grantmaking process and in 2018 created the Chaney Enterprises Foundation Fund at CFAAC. Requests for $10,000 to $50,000 will be considered.
Chaney Foundation grants will support the work of nonprofit organizations serving within the Chaney Enterprises service area. Visit www.chaneyenterprises.com/locations to view a map of the service area.
Priority consideration for potential funding will go to requests that address:
Cycle 1: Applications for funding are due by March 30, 2020. Applications will be reviewed by the Chaney Foundation board for funding by May 31, 2020 (For Anne Arundel County organizations - please apply in Cycle 2).
Cycle 2: Our second grant cycle will be open from July 1, 2020 until August 30, 2020. Grants will be reviewed by the Chaney Foundation board for funding by October 31, 2020 (Cycle 2 will include Anne Arundel County).
To be eligible to apply, an organization must have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service. An organization must be in good standing with the Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation and also be in compliance with the Maryland Secretary of State Charitable Organization Registration Requirements. Chaney Impact Fund Grants
The Chaney Impact Fund is not currently accepting grant applications.
Chaney Impact Fund grants will support the work of nonprofit organizations serving Anne Arundel and Calvert counties in Maryland whose focus is on cancer services, or behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.* Grants will support program needs, capital projects, or operating expenses. Award amounts will range between $25,000 and $50,000.
Priority consideration for potential funding will go to requests that address the following:
To be eligible to apply, an organization must have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service that has been active for two years as of September 1, 2019, and at least 50% of the population served must reside in Anne Arundel and/or Calvert counties. An organization must be in good standing with the Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation and also be in compliance with the Maryland Secretary of State Charitable Organization Registration Requirements.
