We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to ensure the proper repair and maintenance of all company vehicles and equipment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and effective care of the machinery assigned to you, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, tractor-trailers, pickups, heavy equipment, and stationary machinery (e.g., air compressors, welding equipment). Diagnose issues, troubleshoot, inspect, repair or replace parts, reassemble, and test equipment to meet company standards.
Parts Coordination: Work closely with the Manager to ensure that necessary parts and supplies are available for timely repairs.
Proactive Problem-Solving: Identify potential issues before they arise and perform or arrange for necessary repairs. Collaborate with the Manager and other mechanics to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork related to repairs and maintenance activities.
Supervision: Oversee the Mechanic's Helper to ensure they perform their duties effectively and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Safety Compliance: Operate all vehicles and equipment safely, adhering to safety guidelines. Use required safety equipment and promptly report any safety issues to the Manager.
Inspections & Regulations: Conduct all necessary inspections and follow environmental regulations, properly disposing of chemicals and waste in designated areas. Notify the Manager of any environmental concerns.
Shop Maintenance: Keep the shop area and all tools, vehicles, and equipment organized, clean, and in good condition. Secure all company property and report any issues.
Travel: Drive the shop vehicle to various plant sites, perform road calls, and transport broken or repaired equipment as necessary.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Your Expertise:
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
DOT certification.
ASE certifications preferred.
Mack training preferred.
Familiarity with mechanical maintenance of concrete mixers, dump trucks, or refuse trucks.

Compensation:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on qualifications & experience)
