This program creates the opportunity for participants to earn their Class B Commercial Driver’s License, complete the Chaney hiring process, and become employed as productive Concrete Delivery Professionals.
Provide focused training to give participants the skills they need to earn their Class B-Commercial Driver’s License. You will be qualified for positions as Concrete Delivery Professionals after completion of the program. Part of the training program includes learning skills specific to the operation of a mixer truck. During the training cycle, participants will go through the driver qualification process established by Chaney Enterprises.
Hands-on training will be used to prepare participants to get their commercial driver’s license.
Must be 21 years of age.
Must agree to one year commitment of employment upon completion of training.
Must have a satisfactory driving record with no more than 2 points on current record.
Must certify that during the 2-year period immediately prior to applying for a CDL, you have not had:
More than 1 license or had any license suspended, revoked or canceled;
Any conviction in any type of motor vehicle for major qualifying offenses including but not limited to a felony involving the use of a motor vehicle or more than one conviction in any type of motor vehicle for serious traffic violations;
Any violation of state or local law relating to motor vehicle traffic control arising in connection with any traffic accident;
Any conviction for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Must have satisfactory job references.
Must pass a DOT physical.
Must have a negative pre-training and pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
Must have reliable transportation to, from and during training.
Must have steel toe boots (with ankle support).
Must be able to read, write and speak English sufficiently.
Upon acceptance into the program, no training fee is assessed.
Satisfactory Completion Requirements
Must earn a Class B CDL upon class completion.
Must demonstrate safe driving habits and behavior, as interpreted by the trainer.
Must demonstrate reliability and dependability, as interpreted by the trainer.
Must receive a recommendation to hire by the trainer.
Trainees are hired as part-time, temporary employees and will not be eligible for benefits until AFTER the completion of the training program.
Trainees will receive training pay until they have mastered skills to perform independently.
Upon Successful Completion of Training and Acceptance of Full-time Employment
Beginning full-time employment will receive the existing hourly base rate for Concrete Mixer Driver.
Eligibility for benefits begins according to Chaney’s existing policies.
