News - Steven Tripp Earns LEED Green Associate Credential

Waldorf, MD – Steven Tripp, marketing manager for Chaney Enterprises, completed the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USCGB) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate credentialing in March. He is the first professional from Chaney Enterprises to earn this highly valued distinction.

“Attaining LEED Green Associate is an acknowledgement of Steve’s determination to excel in the green building arena. His passion to make concrete recognized as a top sustainable building material and paving surface sets him apart from the pack in our industry,” said Jan Holt, Chaney Enterprises' chief customer officer.

Tripp successfully demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of green building principles and practices as well as the LEED Green Building Rating System. The USGBC designed this certification to denote basic knowledge of green design, construction and operations for professionals in non-technical fields of expertise.

Since joining Chaney Enterprises in 2007, Tripp has studied green building practices extensively and has championed the environmental sustainability of concrete products such as paving, Pervious Concrete, insulated concrete walls and also the use of fly ash in concrete. He also earned the National Ready Mix Concrete Association’s Certified Concrete Professional (CCPƒ) certification in 2010. “Concrete has always had incredible environmental qualities, but it’s only in the last few years that our culture has recognized how important that is,” said Tripp.

Tripp received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
