News - Lantern Hall Wins ACI Award

The American Concrete Institute (ACI), Virginia Chapter, named the Lantern Hall insulated concrete form residence in King George, Va. as its 2013 Commonwealth Award winner. Built by Innovative Property Developers, this 19,300 square-foot residential project on 42 acres was constructed with Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) using passive solar design and floored in concrete. The ICF, which has excellent insulation capabilities and strength, played a major role in meeting the homeowner’s requirements to build the most energy-efficient home possible. Chaney Virginia supplied more than 370 cubic yards of concrete.

Projects selected by the ACI represent the best concept, originality and application of concrete in construction and renovation projects. The project can also reflect the advancement of knowledge and practices in the field of concrete. Various project categories are reviewed and adjudicated.
