News - Kids Learn About Natural Resources, Mining and More

This spring Chaney Enterprises visited seven elementary schools in Southern Maryland, sharing neat facts about natural resources, how the company mines and reclaims the land and how concrete is made and used.

With samples of sand, gravel and other products, the Chaney Enterprises team engaged students from Kindergarten to 5th grade, introducing them to natural resources, the history of mining and how Chaney Enterprises mines, reclaims its mining sites, and makes and recycles concrete. Students also learn about concrete mixer trucks and what a day is like for a concrete delivery professional.  Pictured above, first-graders visit a Chaney Enterprises concrete mixer during a school visit at Lothian Elementary School.
