News - Four Drivers of Chaney Enterprises are Recognized For a Job Well Done At The Safe Truck Driving Championship

On the weekend of June 10th and 11th, Maryland Motor Truck invited hundreds of professional drivers from all over Maryland to participate in their annual Safe Truck Driving Championship. This event provided four of Chaney Enterprises’ drivers the opportunity to compete with local drivers, in an effort to be recognized for the professional and safe driving skills they perform on the job.

The championship requires each of the participating drivers to complete a written test and pre-trip test as well as maneuver their piece of machinery on an obstacle course. To be recognized as a skilled driver in these categories, the drivers not only have to have the strength and coordination to move a truck through difficult areas, but they also must have extensive knowledge of the working order of their truck along with a strict understanding of the rules and regulations that govern CDL licensing. Chaney Enterprises proudly acknowledges Luke Canter, Joe Edelen, Bill Jones, and Charlie Hurley for the professional presence they showed at this event. These drivers received awards for perfect score on the pre-trip test, third place in the dump truck class, and first place in the dump/mixer truck class.

Regardless of the awards received, each of the drivers enjoyed the fellowship of their peer drivers and the ability to be recognized for the exceptional job they do.
