News - Chaney Enterprises Awarded for Excellence

Waldorf, Maryland — Frank Chaney received two Certificates of Achievement from the National Aggregates Association in Las Vegas Nevada during the recent Con Ag Expo held in March. Chaney Enterprises received recognition for 1998 Excellence in Education and 1998 Excellence in Community Service. The Community Service Certificate recognized the efforts of Chaney Enterprises employees in spearheading community service projects during 1998. Five community service projects were nominated:

Bowl for Kids Sake to benefit the Big Brothers and Sisters of Southern Maryland

Also recognized were Chaney Enterprises efforts in community education, specifically the recent donation of two dump trucks to Charles County Community College. Chaney partnered with Charles County Community College in 1990 in the development of a commercial truck driving program. Since that time Chaney Enterprises has provided a practice range for the program at the Waldorf plant since 1994 and has made available dump trucks for the program as well. The time has come for the Charles County Community College to have trucks of their own and Chaney Enterprises is proud to help make that happen.
