The Beautification Grant Program for Charles County was created in 2003. Foundation board member Bob Agee explained the idea behind the program. "The purpose of this program is to assist people in beautifying Charles County, encourage them to identify their own problems, and determine the best way to resolve it. We just provide the resources and encouragement; they provide the ideas and the labor." This year, the Chaney Foundation Board selected twelve Charles County schools and non-profit organizations proposed beautification projects to receive grants in the amount up to $1,000.00.
