News - Alliance for Workplace Excellence Names Chaney Enterprises AWE Winner Four Years Running
Waldorf, MD – For the fourth year, Chaney Enterprises has received the Alliance for Workplace Excellence Award for 2012. The company is among 73 winning companies and organizations from the Mid-Atlantic to be recognized, and is the only concrete, aggregate and construction supplier among the winners.
“These awards are particularly special for Chaney Enterprises, especially with the economy affecting all of our employees in so many ways. That our company is still deemed excellent by the Alliance is a true reflection of the great people we have making us a great company, something we have strived to achieve for 50 years,” said Patsy Bergquist, human resources director for Chaney Enterprises.
Chaney Enterprises, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2012, was noted for its supportive corporate culture and management practices, family and employee-friendly policies and practices, strong employee health and wellness initiatives, comprehensive growth and learning opportunities, its commitment to training and education, and demonstrating corporate social responsibility and employee volunteerism.
For a third year, Chaney Enterprises received the AWE Health & Wellness Trailblazer Award to highlight businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness at work, home and in the community, joining the 44 other companies who were recognized in this category.
Chaney Enterprises employs nearly 300 delivery professionals, support personnel and administrative staff located in nine Maryland counties and Virginia.
This year’s winners will be recognized at the AWE annual awards luncheon on June 11 in Bethesda. More than 600 Greater Washington regional businesses and organizations are expected to attend.
