Materials and Resources - Credit 7

Certified Wood (1 points)

Back to LEED Checklist

Credit is awarded to increase the percentage use of FSC certified wood as compared to tradition wood sources. This will typically drive cost of any wood construction. By using concrete, the overall need for wood may drop considerably, making it much more cost effective to use FSC certified wood. Exemplary performance under this Credit would require that 100% of the wood used on the project is certified. By limiting the use of use a difficult credit is potentially much easier and less expensive to achieve.
